When we met Dan his enthusiasm to learn and chat about the human body was contagious. He has been a joyful addition to all of our classes and has even offered his chiropractic expertise to our teachers (whom many of them claim he has magical chiropractic mojo). We recently asked him to provide a quote for the studio and he so kindly offered these amazing words... "Since I started training Pilates at Cascadia, I have more functional strength, mobility, and balance than ever before. I feel great!" Thanks Dan for answering our questions and also for saying such kind words about Cascadia! We appreciate you too!!!
How long have you been a member of the Cascadia community?
I joined with a membership in September 2016
What is your Pilates story: how did you find Pilates and what keeps you coming back?
I met Savannah and Krista at the Belmont street fair. It was a hot August morning and Savannah was standing in the booth next to a strange looking chair. I was curious about the "chair", who she was and what she did, and I decided to ask. Later, I met Krista and her mom. We discovered we were both anatomy nerds and the rest, as they say, is history.
I keep coming back for 2 reasons. First, the staff at Cascadia is phenomenal. Everyone is so clear, so knowledgeable, so skilled, and so obviously enjoying what they do it's hard not to love it. Second, I have yet to discover a better modality that trains the body in a natural way to improve mobility, coordination, and strength. A large part of what I do professionally is to study structural and functional patterns in bodies. I also see the overwhelming value of conditioning my body now so that I can continue to be healthy and mobile and strong for decades to come.
What is your favorite class that you are taking right now?
The one offered when I walk in :D
Which do you enjoy more: Jo’s hiccups or sneezes?
Final thoughts comments or anecdotes to life?
The natural state of the human body is to be in motion. Pilates at Cascadia has helped me to move better, to feel better, and in many ways, to be better. Thank you!
Thank you Dan for your words of support!!!
